Max Factor Colour Elixir Giant Pen Stick

I am a huge fan of the lip crayons they are so easy and quick to use however it can be tricky to achieve a neat edge if you’re in a rush using the chunkier sticks.

Let me introduce the new Max Factor Colour Elixir Giant Pen Sticks. I’m not sure why they are named ‘Giant’ as they are much slimmer than other chunky lip crayons on the market, but far easier to line the lips with. There are currently 6 shades all selected by makeup artist Mel Arter: ‘Hot Chocolate’; ‘Passionate Red’; ‘Designer Blossom’, ‘Vibrant Pink’, ‘Subtle Coral’, ‘Princess Pink’.

(Top to bottom: Passionate Red, Hot Chocolate, Designer Blossom, Subtle Coral, Princess Pink, Vibrant Pink)
Right now we’re seeing the biggest colour comeback in cosmetics since the 80s – it’s a backlash against the recession as people ditch the minimal trend by adding a cheerful splash of colour. There was a real sporty element to the collections for SS/13. Brights on the lips are a huge nod to that. Specifically pink as it is such an informal and fun colour. My favourite is Vibrant Pink 15 - a sophisticated fluro-pink which is the perfect expression of that trend. Teamed with your favourite eyeliner inside the eye gives the statement lip more attitude. Minimal and cool.” Mel Arter

I’m really into bright glossy lips at the moment so these are right up my street! The texture of the pens are similar to a  lipstick yet they all have a glossy finish and feel moisturising on the lips - my favourite shade from the selection is ‘Vibrant Pink’ which is perfect for a night out.

Max Factor Colour Elixir Giant Pen Sticks will be launching into Boots on April 1st 2013.

  1. They look amazing! I always have trouble with lipsticks being too drying or not lasting long enough. I've always been into bright colours for lipsticks so it's nice to see them making a comeback x
