YSL Beauté Rock Lace Touche Éclat

YSL Beauté has introduced a collector edition of its iconic Touche Éclat. The essential beauty accessory for 2015, Touche Éclat “ROCK LACE” celebrates the ultimate feminine motif: black plummets polka dot tulle. A rock reinterpretation of the fishnet lace, homage to the transparencies of the Yves Saint Laurent universe. Radiant feminine, half dressed, half naked. The precious jewel-like gold pen is engraved with a mysterious black lace.

The Touche Éclat “ROCK LACE” comes in the original shade, N° 1 Rose Lumière. I have been using this product since I can remember to highlight under the eyes and I always found the pen hides dark circles like magic!

The revolutionary highlighter pen created in 1992 by YSL Beauté, Touche Éclat is a bestseller that awakens and illuminates the complexion of millions of women. A must-have. Often copied, never equalled. 8 hours of beauty sleep in a click, Touche Éclat instantly releases its magic light. A natural radiance revealer, it enhances facial features and contours, erasing all signs of fatigue and dark circles. A few magic strokes and the complexion is beautifully illuminated.

My Top 5 April Favourites

This shall be a regular feature where I’ll list my top 5 favourite products of the month that I have been loving, they might be old or new products.

So my favourites for April (in no particular order)......

1. YSL False Lash Effect Mascara – This is the blackest black mascara, it creates fantastic volume and thickness to the lashes whilst also conditioning and smells lovely. Some days I’ve just been wearing this mascara alone without any eye shadow or eye liner it’s that great! My only gripe is the brush gets clogged up with mascara quickly.

2. Cloud 9 Hair Straighteners – absolutely love these and haven’t picked my beloved ghds up since using them (which really says something!) Leaves my hair shiny, far easier to curl and wave my hair with these as the barrels are thinner and curved. Review coming here soon!

3. Ciate polish in ‘Main stage’ from the festive fever collection – my favourite colour at the moment its vibrant plumy pink but not too bright. Its also the perfect dupe for OPI Dim Sum Plum (see here). If you like this colour you can enter my giveaway to win the colour here.

4. Wahanda website – been loving the Mobdeals this month! Got some bargain deals, you can read about it here and check out the links in the right side bar for daily exclusive offers.

5. Liz Earle Hot Cloth Cleanse and Polish – has a lovely creamy texture and leaves skin feeling soft, clean and moisturised.

What are your favourite picks for this month?

YSL MAC and Shu Uemura Makeup Haul

This weekend I took advantage of the brilliant offer Harvey Nichols in Leeds had in their beauty department and thought I would treat myself!

After chatting to the makeup artist on the YSL counter, she asked what eye cream I used – I said at the moment none! She recommended using the new YSL eye treatment under my eyes and not to use concealer as it is very drying and instead just use YSL touché eclait on its own. She suggested using the treatment twice or 3 times a day, on a morning under makeup and after I have removed makeup on an evening as an over night treatment. I would normally apply concealer (current favourite is Estee Lauder disappear) then YSL touché eclait over the top – I find this is the best for hiding dark circles as it is light reflecting and have been using this for years. After chatting to the assistant at YSL I realised that I apply too much and it works much better in conjunction with a moisturising eye cream underneath and in effect you need to use less so therefore the product should last a longer period of time (I use touché elait once or twice a day every day and normally go through 3 or 4 pens a year!)

I purchased the following:

YSL touché eclait – I love this product and been using this for years it’s the one product I cant live without! It covers dark circles and highlights cheeks and brows perfectly.

YSL False Lash effect mascara, this is brilliant has a nice brush and gives full false lash effect eye lashes and is very pigmented in black; the blackest black I have come across in fact.

YSL Top secrets touché express wake-up eye care pen - one click pushes out enough cream for both eyes to apply around the eye area in a circular motion with the cooling roller ball. It is light and sinks into the skin quickly, is super moisturising and gives a brightening effect to the eyes. I have been using this for the past few days and really surprised I haven’t need to apply under eye conclearer just this product and a tiny amount of YSL touché eclait, I have really noticed the difference!

I had a look on the MAC counter but nothing caught my eye – they were out of stock of a lot of products from the new collections including the viva glam lady gaga lipstick. I did purchase a limited edition spring/summer perfume called Hue Pinkaura, which is a floral sweet smell perfect for spring (its in a pink bottle). I have to say you don’t get very much perfume for your money but I do like the sleek small bottle it’s the perfect size for handbags! I also got some Shu Uemura Smokey layers lashes.

On to the free gift which is wonderful – I will use all of these items as usually with free gifts you would only use one or two of the items:

A really cute black and white HN makeup/cosmetics bag;

A voucher to get some individual lashes applied at the Shu Uemura counter. I had these applied on Saturday (5 individual lashes on each outer corner) the MUA said they would last around 3 days however the next morning I forgot I had them in, rubbed my eyes and most of them had fallen out! I really loved the look, very subtle and natural with just a little drama on the outer corner. I will definitely try these again – however I would buy cheaper ones from sallys as I would expect these will be only worn once before loosing them when they fall out.

Rodical Brazilian Tan sample – looking forward to trying this;

Bare Minerals foundation and mini brush sample – this size pot is really handy for travel or to pop in my bag;

A gorgeous Butter London nail polish in ‘I heart nails’ ;
Mini handbag bottle of Marc Jacobs Lola Perfume;

Elemis Tri-enzyme re-surfacing facial wash (love this!) ;

Eve Lom rescue mask (brilliant for clearing up spots and conjestion);

Laura Mercier Lipgloss in Rose (perfect colour for my complexion!);

YSL Lip & Contour shaper treatment – absolutely love this product, smells of passionfruit and leaves the lips soft and shiny like a lipgloss but without being sticky;

Lacome Virtuose mascara

I also was given a lovely mesh bag from Clinique containing moisture surge, lipgloss and eye cream shadow.
