Yes to Tomatoes Facial Hydrating Lotion

Part of the same family as the ‘Yes to Carrots’ and ‘Yes to Cucumbers’ is their sister ‘Yes to Tomatoes’! The ‘Yes To’ is a guilt-free range of natural skin and hair care products combing high quality organic fruit and vegetables with the power of mineral.  I have heard that applying mushed up Tomatoes on spots can clear them up!

With the cold ‘summer’ weather we have been having recently my skin has had a few breakouts recently but I would say my skin is more normal/combination than oily.  This lotion is packed with vitamins and promises to keep oily/combination skin balanced and hydrated and promotes a clearer complexion. It contains a mix of ‘red’ ingredients: Tomato, red pepper watermelon, Rooibos (red tea), along with rosemary, Dead Sea minerals and natural oils. The packaging is basic, and surprisingly doesn’t smell of tomatoes! It has a fresh, slightly floral scent and is free from parabens, petroleum and SLS.

It is a light lotion and sinks into skin quickly, but I felt personally this lotion wasn’t rich enough for my skin, as mine tends to be on the dry side and I feel the spots are due to excess oil being produced as it is dehydrated but for those with oily skin this would be perfect as it is so light on the skin.

Priced at £12.35 and is available at Victoria Health

Review: Yes to Cucumbers Soothing Calming Facial Mask

I was very lucky to be sent a couple of face masks to try out this week. I tend to use a mix of different types of facial masks depending on how my skin is feeling - sometimes I like to use a clay mask if I have a few blemishes, a moisturising mask if my skin is feeling dry, and other times I like to just pop a mask on in the bath to give myself a treat!

Yes to Cucumbers Calming Facial Mask
You may remember I raved about the Yes to Cucumber Face Wipes? (I’m not a huge fan of face wipes generally!) I was keen to try more products out from the same range as all of the 'yes to cucumbers' products are free from petroleum, SLS, and parabens which gets the thumbs up from me!

I tested out the Yes To Cucumbers Calming Face Mask which is the perfect Friday Night treat! The packaging is non fussy and simple, and the pot is a nice size for travelling. I also like the inside lid has a handy gripper - nothing more annoying when you can never get the seal off and the product goes everywhere! Cucumbers are packed with vitamins A and C, this mask also includes Aloe Vera, Vitamin E to rebuild, protect and soothe sensitive skin and detoxifying Dead Sea Mud.

Texture of the mask
The texture is very strange for a mask and hard to describe...is it a mouse? a mud clay? a thick cream? dry? solid? I'd say it is a mix between all three and is it non messy to apply which always a bonus. It smells fresh and like cucumbers - strangely enough!

I applied a thin layer all over my face, avoiding the eye and mouth area, although it says to leave this mask on for 5 minutes, I got a bit carried away and left it on 20 minutes whilst watching Big Brother! I rinsed the mask off using warm water - I would actually only recommend leaving on for 10 minutes max as with it being on longer it had dried onto my skin it took some shifting to take off! My skin felt smooth afterwards and although it is not as drying as a traditional clay mask it is still as effective to drawing out the oil, dirt and impurities.

Yes to cucumbers Soothing Calming Face Mask is available from Victoria Health and is priced at £11.99

Have you tried any of the Yes to Cucumbers range? What were your thoughts?

Blogging Update

Hey everyone - Hope you are all well?

Just thought I would let you know I have made a couple of small changes on here - firstly, thanks to the lovely Liloo I have made my Blog Mobile Friendly at long last! Which means you can now browse Perfectly Polished much easier on a small mobile phone screen (there is an option at the bottom of the screen to switch it back to viewing the web version if you prefer). Secondly, I have taken off that annoying 'word verification' on comments making life a little easier when commenting...which is handy for my latest giveaway to win a Sigma F45 Brush ;)

I have had a lot of requests for more NOTD (coming I promise!), product reviews, outfit of the day posts, and more personal posts about ME! When I first set up the Blog I kept it fairly anonymous preferring to talk more about products and less about me...So for those interested keep a lookout for some more personal posts about little old me :p

Let me know if you have any more Blog likes/dislikes or suggestions - I'd love to hear from you! I am still waiting for a few address for the Aussie Giveaway winners so please email or tweet me so I can get your prizes sent off! Oh and I have reached over 1400 followers this week so another reason to celebrate!

Happy Thursday :)
