TOPSHOP Spring Summer Makeup

Here are a few bits I picked up from TOPSHOP Makeup recently that I thought I would share my thoughts with you. Oh and I have a new digital camera if you wondering why my pictures look a little better quality than normal - I still need to play around with the settings!

TOPSHOP Make Up Spring Summer 2011
A Closer Look
First of all I picked up a 'cheek' stick in a rosy pink shimmery shade 'Luminescence' which is a similar product to the NARS Multiple. It is a multi-use cream stick to add colour and highlight face and body. I applied this directly to my cheeks to give that holiday glow to my skin. I was impressed as the consistency wasn't as oily as the NARS version so lasted much longer on the skin which is essential when on holiday as the environment tends to be hot and humid.

I got the Lip Glaze in the shade 'Bubblegum' which is a lovely rosy pink. I found this glaze non-sticky however it was quite sheer so best to use over the top of your lipstick to add gloss and shine.

I was excited to try the Liner in 'Ink' as I was expecting a very deep intense black from the appearence in the small jar. I found it to be not as dark as I was hoping for, but it dried quickly so I was able to add more layers to create an intense winged eye liner. It lasted very well and was extremly difficult to remove at the end of the day!

The last TOPSHOP nail polish I tried was dreadful - I thought it was over priced, poor quality and it chipped really badly after a day. However, I would say they have changed their formulation and improved the quality as this polish I tried from the Spring Summer 2011 collection is far better, better quality, applied smoothly and lasted around 5 days without chipping. The packaging is cute and I adore this retro orange shade called 'Mover and Shaker' for summer - looks awesome on the toes too! I would say the price is fair it seems alot of polishes have gone up in price recently (I blame Cammeron!) and you do get a decent sized bottle for your cash.

Have you bought any makeup from the TOPSHOP range recently? Anything I missed?

Havaianas Rain or Shine

Enjoy the very first indoor festival of the year with Havaianas, launching its Rain Boots collection with Daisy Lowe, Jamie Woon and many other guests! Beer or Caïpirinha ? Rain Boots or Flip-Flops ?

On April, 14th, Havaianas hosted the very first festival of the year…right in the city center of London! The RAIN OR SHINE indoor festival took place in the Ultra Lounge of Selfridges (Oxford Street, London, UK) to celebrate the global launch of the new Rain Boots range! Surprising? Not really considering that it’s Always Summer with Havaianas ;)

Guests enjoyed Brazilian cocktails by Sagatiba but also traditional British brews while sampling a mixture of the best Brazilian and British festival foods including Tacos, Fajitas, Mini Fish n 'Chips & Burgers.

Musical artist Jamie Woon wowed the guests with music from his recently launched album ‘Mirrorwriting’ and Daisy Lowe got the party going spinning tunes from the DJ booth. Dance artists ‘Brazilian Fantasy’ took to the floor and created dance frenzy toward the end of the night when all of the guests really ‘gave it some rain boots!’

The Rain Boots collection is composed of 8 colours (2 unisex and 6 feminine): Green, Black/Yellow, Pink/Light Blue, Purple/Pink, Grey/Pink, Turquoise/White, Always Summer and Elegance. They cost between £45-£50, depending on the colours. They are only available exclusively at Selfridges and on www.selfridges.com but Very soon, you’ll be able to get them on www.havaianas-store.co.uk so we recommend you to enter your email to be the first to know about their availability.

What about you? RAIN or SHINE?
